PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ookami Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jurkku Mastiffi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mastiffi has chosen Jerry Reed : East Bound and Down as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mastiffi gets a clinch.

Mastiffi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mastiffi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mastiffi wants it to stay on the feet.

Mastiffi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mastiffi decides to stand and escape the position.
Taylor swings for the body but Mastiffi moves out of range.
Mastiffi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mastiffi.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No joy there for Mastiffi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Taylor tries to pull guard but Mastiffi holds him up against the cage and eventually Taylor drops back down to his feet.
Taylor is pressed up against the cage. Mastiffi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Taylor down to the mat. Taylor avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Well Mastiffi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
