Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Janek Grzmot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Rhodes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rhodes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Grzmot kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rhodes tries to kick Grzmot off but Grzmot keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Grzmot is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rhodes has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Grzmot wants to finish this one by submission but Rhodes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Grzmot.
Rhodes is controlling an arm, preventing Grzmot from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Grzmot is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rhodes has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rhodes!

That was a close round but I would say that Janek Grzmot will probably get the nod.

Grzmot shoots in for a double leg but Rhodes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Rhodes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Grzmot to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Rhodes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Grzmot doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Grzmot manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Grzmot swings around for an armbar but Rhodes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Grzmot's guard.

Rhodes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Grzmot is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rhodes defends well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Grzmot is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rhodes is aware though and is defending well.

Rhodes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Grzmot has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rhodes has managed to get both his arms back between Grzmot's legs - danger averted.
Grzmot is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

I would just about give that final round to Jon Rhodes.
I think Rhodes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
