Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Flash McPuggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jethro Walrustitty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walrustitty has chosen The Fish Slapping Dance as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flash McPuggins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jethro Walrustitty!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walrustitty moves out of range of the body kick.
Walrustitty throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McPuggins's waist but McPuggins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walrustitty off to one side.
McPuggins moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
McPuggins throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
McPuggins lands a nice looking body kick.
Good leg kick by McPuggins there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Walrustitty shoots in for a double leg but McPuggins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Walrustitty shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McPuggins sprawls well. McPuggins wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Walrustitty gets slowly back to his feet.
Flash McPuggins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jethro Walrustitty.
McPuggins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McPuggins misses with a kick to the body.

Walrustitty misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McPuggins throws a low kick, looking for Walrustitty's leg but Walrustitty calmly moves out of range.
Walrustitty takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Walrustitty throws a leg kick but McPuggins checks it.
A looping hook to the body misses from McPuggins. Walrustitty does a little dance to reset his feet.
McPuggins lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Walrustitty looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McPuggins!

Walrustitty working for a submission but McPuggins is keeping him at bay.

Walrustitty is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But McPuggins has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from McPuggins!
Walrustitty looking for a sweep. Not yet Walrustitty, not yet.

Walrustitty isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. McPuggins stacks Walrustitty on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by McPuggins!

Walrustitty tries to buck McPuggins off but McPuggins is having none of it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Walrustitty tries to control the position but he's not in luck - McPuggins easily slips into full mount!
McPuggins is looking to stand but McPuggins has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Walrustitty really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Walrustitty is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Walrustitty bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Walrustitty stays in close to McPuggins's body and controls the position.
Walrustitty pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McPuggins is keeping the position for now.
McPuggins wants to stand up but Walrustitty is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flash McPuggins dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


The fight stays on the outside here - McPuggins looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Walrustitty counters with a nice leg kick.
Walrustitty has a takedown stuffed.
Flash McPuggins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McPuggins tries to close the distance and clinch but Walrustitty swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McPuggins dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Walrustitty makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from McPuggins enables Walrustitty to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McPuggins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
McPuggins is wriggling around but Walrustitty manages to pass to half guard.

Walrustitty is trying to work for a kimura but McPuggins is defending well.
Walrustitty is pressing down on McPuggins's thigh, looking to free his foot. McPuggins is holding on for now.

Walrustitty is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McPuggins has managed to free his arm - good work.

Walrustitty sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. McPuggins defending well though.
Walrustitty wants to pass the guard but McPuggins is defending well.

Walrustitty is looking for a kimura here.
McPuggins wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Walrustitty looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jethro Walrustitty showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Walrustitty manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Walrustitty wants to get back to full guard.
Walrustitty trying to hold on to McPuggins's head to control him but McPuggins postures up.
Walrustitty is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

McPuggins stands up out of the half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Walrustitty looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McPuggins is fending him off so far but Walrustitty persists. Nope, McPuggins circles away and we're back to standing.

Walrustitty is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from McPuggins as he works his way to full guard.

Jethro Walrustitty comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Walrustitty has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
