Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gunnar Owens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Martin LaFleche!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Horrible takedown by Owens or perhaps it was just good defense by LaFleche which made him look bad.
Owens moves in looking to clinch but LaFleche pushes him off.
Owens scores with a nice head shot.
Owens darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Owens is trying to control the action in half guard but LaFleche is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
LaFleche is pressing down on Owens's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
LaFleche looking for a sweep. Not yet LaFleche, not yet.
Owens works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
LaFleche wants to get back to full guard.

Owens thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
LaFleche working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Owens doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Owens manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Owens wants to pass the guard but LaFleche is keeping the position.
LaFleche is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
LaFleche is working for a submission of some sort.

The fighters are battling for position here. Owens manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
LaFleche looks gassed!
Owens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. LaFleche gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
LaFleche is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Owens is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
LaFleche tries to pull guard but Owens won't allow it.

Owens striking off his back but it's not causing LaFleche any problems.
Owens working for a triangle but LaFleche defends it easily.
Owens is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
LaFleche throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Owens works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Owens throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
LaFleche looking to pass the guard.
Owens had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. LaFleche is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Owens Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take LaFleche's back instead.

Owens has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, LaFleche has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

LaFleche is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Owens working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Owens trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Owens is trying to stick to LaFleche's back but LaFleche is turning into Owens. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Owens's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by LaFleche.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Owens is on top in guard.
Owens decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on LaFleche, up you get!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Owens tries to clinch but LaFleche moves out of range.
Owens bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Owens is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. LaFleche knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Owens tries for a kimura but LaFleche is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gunnar Owens dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
LaFleche scores with a hook to the body. Owens takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Owens misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Owens looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for LaFleche!
Owens working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. LaFleche looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Owens! Submission of the night perhaps?
