Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Alves!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

LeBeau shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

LeBeau shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alves but Alves pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Alves gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Alves not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Alves manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
LeBeau is bucking up trying to escape but Alves cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

You get the feeling that LeBeau really doesn't like being in this position too much.

LeBeau is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

BOOM! Alves connects with a massive shot to the dome!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Alves dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and LeBeau counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard.

LeBeau seems to have got his legs back now.
Alves tries to land a sweep but no joy.

LeBeau gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Alves feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

LeBeau scrambles and gets back to his feet.

LeBeau shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Alves wants to stand but LeBeau is controlling the position.

Alves seems keen to control LeBeau's posture.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Alves is trying to control the position but LeBeau postures up.

LeBeau misses with a takedown attempt

and Alves counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alves.
LeBeau wants to stand and escape but Alves is having none of it.
Alves with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

LeBeau has his feet on Alves's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Alves tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but LeBeau wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

LeBeau decides to stand up, so the ref orders Alves to his feet.
LeBeau really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
LeBeau shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Alves counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Alves thows a big elbow that misses.
Frank Alves has got the better of the ground game so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Alves stands up over LeBeau, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Alves working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

LeBeau manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

LeBeau shoots in and bounces Alves off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
LeBeau tries to stand but Alves is controlling from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Alves comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Alves has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
