No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.

Elchert shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Elchert controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Steven Elchert wasn't active enough on the ground.

Johnson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Elchert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Elchert has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Johnson is really squeezing tight and eventually Elchert passes out! Johnson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
