Bonjasky comes into a darkened arena with his song building. -=Fried Day=- kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ernesto Bonjasky!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bonjasky but Bonjasky pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ribeiro displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bonjasky throws out the jab.

Ribeiro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ribeiro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bonjasky is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bonjasky regains half guard.

Ribeiro seems to be looking for submissions.
Ribeiro looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Ribeiro wants to advance to full mount but Bonjasky doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bonjasky holds on and takes a little breather.
Bonjasky is trying to keep Ribeiro in close.
Bonjasky has his hands on Ribeiro's head, controlling the position.
Ribeiro wants to pass the guard but Bonjasky is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ernesto Bonjasky has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Ribeiro clinches.
Ribeiro tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bonjasky just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ribeiro has Bonjasky pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bonjasky manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ribeiro slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Ribeiro looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bonjasky is trying to control Ribeiro's posture but Ribeiro avoids it.

Ribeiro is looking to take a break and control but Bonjasky is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bonjasky is trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bonjasky is trying to control Ribeiro's posture but Ribeiro avoids it.

Ribeiro tries for a kimura but Bonjasky is defending well.

It looks like Mario Ribeiro has been cut.
Ribeiro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ribeiro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bonjasky circles away.
Bonjasky digs a good hook to Ribeiro's body.

Bonjasky connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bonjasky fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ribeiro is looking to clinch but Bonjasky is avoiding it.

Ribeiro takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bonjasky scores with a jab to the body.
Bonjasky misses with a wild combination.
Ribeiro on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown but Bonjasky shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bonjasky lands with a shot to the body.
Bonjasky scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Mario Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ribeiro avoids the body shot from Bonjasky.
Bonjasky lands a slapping body shot.
Bonjasky avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ernesto Bonjasky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bonjasky dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ribeiro. That did some damage!
Nice straight punches there by Bonjasky. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bonjasky.
Bonjasky connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Ribeiro tumbling to the canvas! Bonjasky pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Ribeiro was done - good stoppage!
