The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guevara shoots for a takedown but Gracie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Guevara shoots in but no luck this time.
Guevara shoots for a double leg takedown but Gracie sprawls well. He's pushed Guevara's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ernesto Guevara. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guevara avoids the head kick by Gracie.
Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gracie stuffs the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guevara throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gracie's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Guevara off to one side.

Gracie distracts Guevara with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Guevara could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Guevara can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Guevara is trying to control but can't.
Guevara is breathing heavily.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Guevara is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but Guevara is defending the position.

Gracie tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Gracie wants to control but Guevara is keeping him busy.

Gracie is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Guevara looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gracie gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Guevara is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gracie lets go of the hold and Guevara can pop his arm back in it's socket.
