Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Apollo Greed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greed has chosen James Brown - Living In America as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Apollo Greed enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Greed moves away.
Franklin is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Greed.

It looks like Chuck Franklin has been cut.
Good shot there by Greed.
Greed misses with a double jab.
Franklin throws the left hand but Greed avoids the punch easily.
Franklin shoots in for a double leg but Greed sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Franklin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Greed rushes Franklin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Franklin manages to break the clinch.
Greed lands with a nice body punch.
Greed lands the left hand.
Franklin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Greed but Greed pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Greed tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Apollo Greed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Greed comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Franklin is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Greed scores with a hook.

Greed cracks Franklin with an uppercut from hell and Franklin crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Greed's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Franklin is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Greed looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Greed is looking to stand up but Franklin won't let him.

Greed stays in close to Franklin's body and controls the position.

Franklin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Greed doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Greed manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Franklin looking for a guillotine here but Greed defends easily.
Franklin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Franklin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Greed wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Franklin.
Franklin wants to control the pace but Greed is squirming around nicely.
Greed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franklin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Greed is trying to escape the mount.
Franklin landing strikes, looking to finish!
Greed is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Franklin looking to control but Greed is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Franklin goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Greed turns into him and now he's in Franklin's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Greed postures up.

Greed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Franklin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Greed connects with a right hand. Franklin shakes it off.
Franklin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Greed swivels and escapes.
Apollo Greed seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A good leg kick by Greed.
Greed misses with a few strikes there.
Franklin misses with a head kick.
Greed misses with a wild body shot.
Greed looks to score with a jab to the body but Franklin is just out of range.
Greed staying out of range there.
Franklin takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Franklin moves forwards but Greed connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Franklin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Greed jabs Franklin right on the nose. Franklin blinks but takes it well.
Greed ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Franklin moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Greed. No joy for Franklin on that attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Greed as Franklin shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Franklin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A shot to the body from Franklin misses

and Franklin is countered with a crisp right hand from Greed that sends him to the canvas! Greed follows him to the mat into side control.
Oh Franklin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Franklin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Greed counters with a three punch combo that has Franklin backing up. Franklin nods at Greed to acknowledge the strikes.

Chuck Franklin's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Greed jabs at Franklin's body.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Franklin. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
