The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marie misses the shot to the body.
Marie throws a hook but BJJ avoids it easily.
Marie throws a body punch but BJJ moves out of range.
BJJ bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jab, jab by Marie - just one landing.
It looks like Hilo BJJ has been cut.
Marie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. BJJ sees it coming and avoids it easily.
BJJ looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Marie clinches up against the cage.
BJJ manages to pull guard.
Marie is pushing down on BJJ's leg trying to pass to half guard. BJJ is fighting to maintain full guard but Marie has managed to sneak the leg through.
BJJ blocking the ground and pound attempt from Marie.
Marie wants to work for an arm triangle but BJJ is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
BJJ is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
BJJ is working hard here to advance position.

Marie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so BJJ is just riding it out for now. Marie eventually gives up the hold.

BJJ moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
BJJ looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
BJJ throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
BJJ manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Marie manages to get himself to full guard.

BJJ is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
BJJ postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Marie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of BJJ, into his guard.
Marie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

BJJ looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Marie passes into half guard.
Marie wants to work for an arm triangle but BJJ is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BJJ manages to get to full guard.
Marie trying to control the position from guard on top but BJJ is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
BJJ wants to sweep here but Marie controlling him for the moment.
Marie drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Marie seems to have locked his on tight now - BJJ screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Marie, as he picks up the win!
