PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Schwartz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Moss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schwartz comes to the cage accompanied by Baby Got Back. Billy Moss struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Billy Moss is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Billy Moss!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schwartz lands a leg kick that knocks Moss off balance momentarily.
Moss fails with a takedown attempt.
Moss tries to clinch up but Schwartz circles away and keeps his distance.
A head kick misses from Schwartz.
Schwartz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Nice takedown defense from Moss. No joy for Schwartz on that attempt.

Moss is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Moss shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Schwartz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Schwartz is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Moss's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Schwartz tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Schwartz is trying to escape back to his feet but Moss uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Schwartz is looking for a triangle but Moss pushes his legs off easily.
Schwartz has Moss pulled in close to control his posture.
Schwartz has momentary wrist control but Moss slips an elbow through the middle.
Moss must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Moss landing some decent shots from guard.
Moss wants to get up but he can't break Schwartz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Moss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schwartz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Schwartz has his foot on Moss's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Moss works his way back into a safe position though.

Schwartz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Schwartz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Moss takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Schwartz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Moss is desperately trying to improve his position but Schwartz has a good base and remains in mount.
Schwartz lands a big shot there that rocks Moss but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Schwartz lands a big elbow.
Schwartz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Moss's face.
Schwartz lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Schwartz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schwartz blocks Moss's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Moss is in a horrible position here. Schwartz smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Schwartz lands with some strikes.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Schwartz tries to clinch up but Moss circles away and keeps his distance.
A nice combination there by Schwartz.


It looks like Billy Moss has been cut.
Schwartz connects with a crisp jab.


Moss is rocked!

Schwartz gets a clinch.
Moss is still on wobbly legs! Can Schwartz finish him?
Schwartz gets underhooks to prevent Moss's takedown attempt.
Schwartz prevents Moss from breaking the clinch.

Schwartz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Schwartz drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Moss right on the button. Moss goes down! Schwartz follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Schwartz gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rob Schwartz!
