Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lance Uppercutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uppercutt comes to the cage accompanied by You can't stop me now. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Uppercutt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bob Sapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sapp looks to land a combination but Uppercutt avoids it well.
Sapp uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Uppercutt.

Uppercutt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Uppercutt stands up from mount. Strange move.
Uppercutt looks to land a left hand but Sapp moved out of range nicely.
Sapp misses with a few strikes there.
Uppercutt jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Some wild striking there from Sapp.
Sapp is looking to clinch but Uppercutt is avoiding it.

Uppercutt shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sapp is trying to defend but Uppercutt finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Well, if Uppercutt is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Uppercutt moves into full mount! Sapp won't be happy about that!

Sapp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Uppercutt swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sapp avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Sapp fails with an attempt to clinch.
Uppercutt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sapp tries to avoid it but Uppercutt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sapp to the ground. Sapp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sapp looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sapp looks gassed!
Sapp throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Uppercutt.
Uppercutt lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Bob Sapp has been cut.
Sapp stuffs the takedown.
Sapp on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Sapp doesn't manage to clinch there - Uppercutt circles away.
Uppercutt dodges the punch combination from Sapp.
Uppercutt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sapp is fending him off so far but Uppercutt persists. Nope, Sapp circles away and we're back to standing.

Sapp tries to close the distance and clinch but Uppercutt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sapp swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Uppercutt could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
No joy there for Sapp, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sapp wants to clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Uppercutt tries to clinch but Sapp moves out of range.

Sapp darts in and clinches Uppercutt up against the cage.

Uppercutt ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Uppercutt no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sapp loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sapp cracks Uppercutt with a solid left hand.
Sapp is looking to work some ground and pound but Uppercutt has wrist control.
Sapp working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Uppercutt's head.
Sapp throws a strike but Uppercutt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Uppercutt is working for takedown but Sapp is calmly controlling the position for now.

Sapp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Uppercutt counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Sapp wants to stand but Uppercutt is controlling the position.
Uppercutt tries to free his leg and advance position but Sapp is retaining full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Uppercutt sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sapp's guard.

Uppercutt is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Uppercutt is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Sapp manages to get to full guard.
Uppercutt wants to pass the guard but Sapp is keeping the position.
Sapp wants to stand but Uppercutt is controlling the position.

Uppercutt gets to his feet - Sapp follows without any prompting.
Sapp misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Uppercutt closes the distance and clinches up with Sapp, looking for a takedown. Uppercutt pushes Sapp against the cage but Sapp circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sapp misses with the combination.
Sapp will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sapp takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Uppercutt shoots in and drives through. Sapp sprawls well.

Uppercutt jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sapp is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sapp and Uppercutt has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Sapp is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Uppercutt is controlling him well.

Lance Uppercutt is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sapp is in close to Uppercutt's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Uppercutt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
