Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vicky Vegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida's entrance music is Concrete Schoolyard. A fine choice. Vegas has chosen The Prodigy 'Omen' as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Wanderlei Machida has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Machida throws a leg kick but Vegas sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Nice combo by Machida! Oh, that's hurt him - Vegas falls to the canvas and Machida follows him into side control.
Vegas is rocked!
It looks like Vicky Vegas has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Machida is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vegas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Vegas tries to bum rush Machida with a series of wild strikes but Machida uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Machida shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vegas but Vegas pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Vicky Vegas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vegas loads up on a big right hand but Machida slips the punch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Machida counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vegas's guard now.

Vegas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Machida's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wanderlei Machida.
I think Machida has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
