Quick comes to the cage accompanied by Indestructible, by Disturbed. Jackson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Patiently Waiting. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Jackson!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jackson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Quick shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jackson defends it nicely.
Quick shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Quick accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Quick gets to his feet. Jackson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Jackson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Quick is defended easily by Jackson.

Quick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Quick trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Quick tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.

Quick wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson controls Quick momentarily but Quick frees himself.
Quick postures up in Jackson's guard and throws a big left but Jackson blocks it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jackson avoids the body shot from Quick.
Quick misses with a wild body shot.
A solid body kick from Jackson.
Quick swinging wildly here.
Curtis Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Quick thows a left - swing and a miss!
Quick is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jackson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Quick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson throws a chopping leg kick but Quick manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Quick throws the left hand but Jackson avoids the punch easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jackson connects with a high kick.
A good leg kick by Jackson.
Quick stalks Jackson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jackson's face. Jackson staggers backwards, shaken.
Jackson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Nick Quick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson is looking to slow Quick down with leg kicks.
Jackson misses with a low kick.
Quick fails to land the takedown.
Quick shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Quick's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Jackson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Jackson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Curtis Jackson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jackson throws a head kick but Quick moves out of range.

Good work by Quick as he checks the leg kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Jackson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Quick is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
