The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stumps gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Stumps closes the distance and clinches.
Karalexis drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stumps pulls his leg out and moves away.

Stumps bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stumps lands a decent elbow from side control.
Stumps misses with the ground and pound.
Karalexis is trying to get back to half guard.
Karalexis parries the strikes from Stumps easily there. Stumps is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Karalexis to escape.
Stumps in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Karalexis dodges the ground and pound from Stumps.
