Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arik Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cannon comes to the cage accompanied by Junkie Man - Rancid. Harrison is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by East London Rap - Wha we a bout . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Arik Cannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cannon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Harrison as he avoids it easily.
Harrison lands with a nice combination. Cannon backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Arik Cannon has been cut.
Harrison misses with a low kick.

Cannon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Cannon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cannon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Cannon wants to control but Harrison is keeping him busy.
Harrison keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Cannon seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Harrison has recovered full guard.

Cannon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Harrison is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cannon, into his guard.

Cannon is looking to control Harrison's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cannon avoid being mounted?
Cannon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cannon tries to get out of the position.
Still in half guard, Harrison seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Harrison is trying to control the action in half guard but Cannon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cannon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Harrison is working away from the top position though.
Harrison wants to stand up but Cannon has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cannon keeping moving, preventing Harrison from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Harrison displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cannon.
Harrison throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cannon fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arik Cannon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Arik Cannon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cannon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harrison tries to avoid it but Cannon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harrison to the ground. Harrison escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cannon tries for a takedown but Harrison sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Cannon rushes Harrison and presses him up against the cage.

Cannon has clasped his hands together around Harrison's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Cannon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cannon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Harrison makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harrison.
Cannon is looking to work some ground and pound but Harrison has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cannon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Harrison not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cannon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Harrison tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cannon wants to control from the top but Harrison keeps moving.
Cannon is really struggling to control Harrison but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cannon.
Cannon avoids a punch combination nicely.
A combination from Harrison does no damage.
Cannon uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Harrison throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Cannon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cannon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Harrison manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cannon has Harrison in his guard.

Harrison throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Harrison moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Cannon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harrison's waist but Harrison gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cannon off to one side.
