Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Egbert Van Der Dick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Pearson!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pearson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pearson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pearson tries to score with a low kick but Van Der Dick moves his leg out of the way.
Van Der Dick misses with a takedown

and Pearson moves into the clinch.

Pearson is trying to trip Van Der Dick. He has hold of a leg but Van Der Dick is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pearson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Pearson looking to sit in guard and control but Van Der Dick gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Van Der Dick wants to control from the top but Pearson keeps moving.

Pearson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Van Der Dick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pearson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Van Der Dick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Van Der Dick stands up from Pearson's guard - Van Der Dick perhaps looking for a knockout.
Van Der Dick tries for a takedown but Pearson circles away easily

and Pearson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Van Der Dick won't be happy with that.

Van Der Dick manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pearson's best efforts.
Van Der Dick is trying to stand up here but Pearson is controlling him well.

Van Der Dick is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pearson pulls his head out easily.
Pearson wants to free his trapped foot but Van Der Dick is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Pearson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pearson winds up and cracks Van Der Dick with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pearson wants to stand up but Van Der Dick manages to regain full guard.
Pearson trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Der Dick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pearson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Van Der Dick wants to stand but Pearson is controlling the position.

Van Der Dick is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pearson won't allow Van Der Dick to get back to his feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rodney Pearson wasn't active enough on the ground.

Pearson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Pearson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Van Der Dick, who protects the arm well.
Pearson trying to control the position but Van Der Dick is working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Van Der Dick is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pearson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Pearson tries to stand and escape but Van Der Dick actually recovers to full guard.

Van Der Dick is working an open guard so Pearson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Pearson counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Egbert Van Der Dick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pearson tries for a takedown but Van Der Dick manages to get underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodney Pearson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Pearson tries to clinch up but Van Der Dick circles away and keeps his distance.

and Pearson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Van Der Dick won't be happy with that.
Pearson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Van Der Dick sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Van Der Dick manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Van Der Dick looking for a triangle here. Pearson is fighting it but it looks tight! Van Der Dick pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Pearson is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Egbert Van Der Dick!
