Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takehiko Takaki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ahmad Durrani!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Takaki with that takedown attempt.
Durrani throws a body punch but Takaki moves out of range.
Durrani throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Takaki.
Ahmad Durrani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durrani scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Durrani scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A chopping leg kick lands by Durrani.
Durrani will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Takaki on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Takaki dodges the punch combination from Durrani.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Durrani lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Takaki has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Takaki and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Takaki shoots in looking for a takedown. Durrani tries to sprawl out of it but Takaki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Durrani manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Durrani misses with a low kick.
Durrani displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Takaki.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takehiko Takaki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Takaki with that takedown attempt.

A good leg kick by Durrani.
Durrani wants to slow Takaki down by chopping away at his legs.
Nice sprawl there from Durrani as Takaki shoots in.
Takaki tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Durrani tests Takaki's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ahmad Durrani is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Durrani connects with a leg kick. Takaki looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Durrani throws a right hand that Takaki ducks under and follows up with a left that Takaki also avoids with ease.

Sloppy strikes from Durrani. Those never looked like landing.
Durrani defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Takaki.
Durrani swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Takaki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
An inside leg kick lands from Durrani.
Durrani lands with a nice combination. Takaki backs away looking to recover.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Durrani, as that shot connected.
Durrani lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Takaki takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takaki looks for a takedown but Durrani sprawls well.

Durrani rushes Takaki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Durrani lands a body punch.
Durrani stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Durrani escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Durrani cracks Takaki with a right hand to the side of the head.
Durrani misses with an attempted mid kick.
Durrani lands with a nice body punch.
Durrani throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Takaki on the side of the head.

and Takaki makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Durrani really felt that one!
Durrani lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Durrani is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Takaki rather than just go for the knockout.

Durrani changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Durrani lands with a cross.
Durrani bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Durrani fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Takaki looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Durrani lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Durrani thuds a left hand into Takaki's body.
Durrani takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Durrani moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Takaki. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Durrani scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Durrani cracks a nice hook into Takaki's ribs.

and Takaki holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Durrani is leaning against Takaki and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Takaki is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Durrani breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Durrani scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Takaki takes a body punch but keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Takaki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Durrani.
A combination from Durrani does no damage.
Durrani throws out a loose jab but Takaki uses good head movement to avoid it.
Durrani connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Takaki moves out of range as Durrani strikes.
Durrani thows a body shot but no joy.
Takaki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Durrani as he jumps to the side.
Durrani scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Durrani digs a good body shot into Takaki's ribs.
Durrani feints and then cracks Takaki's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Takaki down.
Takaki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Takaki takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Durrani lands with a shot to the body.
Ahmad Durrani seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Takaki has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Takaki there as he acknowledges the shot.
Takaki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Durrani lands a jab.
Takaki takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Durrani pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Durrani lands a jab to Takaki's midsection.
Takaki moves out of range of the body kick from Durrani.
Takaki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Durrani circles away from the clinch attempt
and Durrani connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Takaki takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Durrani misses with a kick to the body.
Takaki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Takaki is trying hard to land a takedown here. Durrani sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takehiko Takaki. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Good leg kick by Durrani there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Durrani has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd cheers as Durrani lands an impressive looking overhand right. Takaki doesn't seem phased though.
Takaki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Durrani looks to land a combination. Takaki sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


Takaki is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Durrani lands a nice hook to Takaki's body. Takaki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Oh Takaki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Durrani scores with a three punch combo!
Durrani throws a monster overhand right that drops Takaki! Durrani follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
