Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Studebaker Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fat Hoos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Studebaker Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fat Hoos!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hoos as he jumps to the side.

Hoos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hoos in side control lands a decent elbow.
Hawk is looking to reverse the position.

Hoos decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hawk to his feet.
Hawk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hoos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hoos controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hoos trying to control the position from guard on top but Hawk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hoos works over Hawk with some ground and pound from guard.
Hoos slips nicely into half guard.
Hawk wants to get back to full guard but Hoos has mounted him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hoos controlling from the full mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Hawk is desperately trying to improve his position but Hoos has a good base and remains in mount.
Hoos pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoos connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hawk throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Hawk tries to hold on but Hoos pushes him away.
Hawk is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Hoos looking to control and managing it successfully.
Hoos lands a nice shot to the head.
Hoos with a couple of short strikes.
Hoos is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Hawk tries to lock up and control but Hoos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Hawk is looking to get to half guard.
Hawk is working hard here to advance position.
Hoos cracks Hawk with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hoos breaks from Hawk's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hawk tries to hold on but Hoos postures up.
Hoos lands a heavy elbow.
Hoos avoids the attempt from Hawk to control.
Hawk can't escape the position.
The referee warns Hawk that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hoos cracks Hawk with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hawk tries to reverse the position but Hoos maintains control.
Hoos connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hoos content just to control the position here.
Hoos looks gassed!
Hawk wants to hold on but Hoos pushes him away.
Hoos prevents Hawk from getting the reversal.
Hoos with shots to the head and body - Hawk looks very uncomfortable down there.

Hawk gets back to half guard.
Hoos landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Hawk gets full guard.

Hawk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hoos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hawk tries to strike from the bottom.
Hoos wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving.
Hawk is trying to control the position but Hoos postures up.

Hawk looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hoos has picked Hawk up and slammed him! Hawk can't keep hold of the triangle and Hoos manages to pass to side control!
Hawk tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hawk can't do much from the bottom here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hoos connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hawk some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fat Hoos dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Hoos drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hoos tries to free his leg and advance position but Hawk is retaining full guard.
Fat Hoos has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hawk isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hoos stacks Hawk on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hoos!

Hoos working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hawk manages to get back to half guard.

Hoos is breathing heavily.
Hoos slips a nice elbow through Hawk's hands, connecting with Hawk's forehead.

Hoos lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hoos trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hawk tries to strike from the bottom.
Hawk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hoos's guard.
Hawk is looking to work some ground and pound but Hoos has wrist control.
Hawk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hoos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hawk trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hawk with a flurry of punches that miss.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hawk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hoos's guard.
Hawk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hoos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hawk drops back looking for a leg! Hoos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hoos manages to kick Hawk off! Hawk jumps back into Hoos's guard.
Hoos keeping moving, preventing Hawk from controlling successfully.
Hawk throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hawk trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hawk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hawk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hoos is trying to control. Hawk wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hawk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hoos's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hoos's back!
Hawk keeps control of the position as Hoos tries to break free.

A lull in the action here.
