The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tramp closes the distance and clinches up with Willems, looking for a takedown. Tramp pushes Willems against the cage but Willems circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Willems tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tramp paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Tramp shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Willems wants to stand but Tramp is controlling the position.

and Tramp counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tramp's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tramp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tramp gets to his feet. Willems looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Tramp throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Willems gets caught flat footed, as Tramp shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Willems is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Tramp thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Willems is wriggling around but Tramp manages to pass to half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Willems has a hand on Tramp's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Tramp takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Tramp bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tramp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Willems keeps working.
Willems bucks up and tries to throw Tramp off but instead Tramp has got his back!

Willems manages to stand up with Tramp still on his back. Eventually Tramp drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Tramp seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Willems for as long as he can get away with.
