Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Nichols (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonn Rusband (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rusband avoids the body shot from Nichols.
Nichols tries to close the distance and clinch but Rusband swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rusband avoids the head kick by Nichols.
No joy there for Nichols, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nichols looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rusband changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nichols looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rusband tries to advance to mount but can't.
Rusband is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nichols is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rusband is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nichols has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rusband wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nichols, who protects the arm well.
Rusband has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rusband tries to score with some ground and pound. Nichols controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Nichols knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rusband on the ground.
Rusband is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nichols has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nichols on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Nichols is trying to buck Rusband off.

Rusband takes a little break here. Nichols wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Rusband is staying tight to Nichols's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Rusband's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Nichols is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Nichols could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Nichols is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rusband has just dragged him back down to the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rusband is working to tighten is grip on Nichols's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Nichols has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Rusband is really squeezing tight and eventually Nichols passes out! Rusband breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
