Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Miki Thron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miki Thron has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miki Thron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia misses the jab.
Thron uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Garcia has time to react.
Garcia connects with a jab.
Thron shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Thron showed some decent athleticism there.
Garcia tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Garcia kicks Thron off and gets back to his feet.
Thron closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Thron tries for a kimura but Garcia is defending well.

Garcia is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Thron asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Garcia is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Thron is aware though and is defending well.
Thron tries to free his leg and advance position but Garcia is retaining full guard.
Thron is working Garcia over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Garcia is looking for a triangle but Thron pushes his legs off easily.
Thron drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thron jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thron has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Garcia is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thron gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Garcia looks gassed!
Thron is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Thron will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Garcia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thron can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Garcia is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thron defends well.
Thron wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving.
Thron thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Thron is in close to Garcia's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Thron tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thron has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Garcia tries to bench press Thron off him but Thron keeps the position.
Garcia is working to avoid the ground and pound but Thron connects with a decent elbow.

Thron wants to control but Garcia is keeping him busy.
Garcia is trying to control Thron's posture but Thron avoids it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Thron has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Garcia has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Thron cracks Garcia with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Garcia from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Thron is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Garcia with him. Garcia is trying to defend but Thron has an arm under the chin now! Garcia grimaces and is forced to tap out!
