Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dean Venture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Felipe Calderon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venture will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Calderon, as that shot connected.
Calderon throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Venture tries to score a power double leg takedown but Calderon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Venture somewhat.
Venture slips a jab from Calderon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Venture throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Calderon's waist but Calderon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Venture off to one side.

Calderon is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Calderon throws a jab but it's blocked by Venture.

Venture has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Venture there as he acknowledges the shot.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Calderon throws a leg kick which misses Venture's front leg but catches the back leg as Venture tries to avoid it.
Venture shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Calderon sprawls well. Calderon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Venture gets slowly back to his feet.

Venture dives in and grabs Calderon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Calderon pushes down on Venture's head and hops out.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Calderon slaps away a takedown attempt from Venture, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Calderon pivots, looking for a leg kick but Venture is out of range and Calderon settles back down.

Calderon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Venture throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Calderon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Calderon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Calderon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Venture!
Venture can't escape the position.

Calderon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Venture manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Venture struggling a bit here.
Calderon looking to control but instead Venture has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Calderon seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felipe Calderon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Calderon's corner calls for a 1-2. Calderon obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Calderon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Calderon wants it to stay on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Calderon leaves Venture with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
