Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Nich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nich has chosen Boom Boom Pow as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Junior Silva has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nich fails with an attempt to clinch.

Nich clinches up against the cage.

Nich escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nich throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.
Nich connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Nich shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nich was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Nich is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Nich lands a nice shot that snaps Silva's head back.

Nich darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Silva moves into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva is looking to stand up but Nich isn't so interested in that idea.
Silva wants to sweep here but Nich controlling him for the moment.

Nich tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Nich won't allow Silva to sweep him here.
Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nich swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Silva throws a combination that misses

and Nich counters by clinching up.

Nich pulls guard effortlessly.
Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Nich looks gassed!
Silva thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Nich to regain full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Nich is keeping the position.

Nich is working an open guard so Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Silva forces Nich back against the cage and clinches.
Silva tries to pull guard but Nich holds him up against the cage and eventually Silva drops back down to his feet.

Nich breaks the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva.
Nich wants to control but Silva postures up.
Silva throws a strike aimed at the side of Nich's head but Nich avoids it well.
Nich takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Silva grinds an elbow into Nich's temple.
Silva is working Nich over with some ground and pound from side control.
Silva lands an elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Silva has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Nich!
Silva could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Nich gets back to half guard.
Silva is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Nich manages to get to full guard.

Nich looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nich punching to the body, from the bottom.

Nich uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Silva wants to clinch up but Nich keeps it at a distance.

Nich clinches up against the cage.
Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Nich shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Nich wants to get back to striking at distance but Silva won't allow it.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nich lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Silva is rocked!

It looks like Junior Silva has been cut.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Nich knocks Silva out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
