Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Waderlei Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Squirmy McGee!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big head kick from Wilson and McGee is sent sprawling to the canvas!


McGee is rocked!


It looks like Squirmy McGee has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McGee looking for a guillotine here but Wilson defends easily.
McGee is still in real trouble! Can Wilson finish him?
McGee keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully.

McGee throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
McGee seems to have recovered his senses.

McGee has his foot on Wilson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wilson works his way back into a safe position though.

McGee keeping busy on the bottom but Wilson has passed one foot through into half guard.

Wilson seems to be working for a kimura but McGee defends the submission attempt.
McGee moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Wilson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
McGee is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Wilson is breathing heavily.
Wilson is looking to take a break and control but McGee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McGee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wilson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

McGee wants to sweep but Wilson has passed to side control!
McGee is looking for a sweep.
McGee is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
McGee tries to roll over but Wilson keeps him under control.
McGee gets back to full guard.

Wilson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McGee, up you get!
McGee shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

McGee feints and as Wilson raises his hands in defense, McGee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
McGee passes into half guard.
Wilson trying to control but McGee postures up.

McGee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
McGee is looking to advance position but Wilson won't allow it.
Wilson is looking to control McGee's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wilson avoid being mounted?

Wilson manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wilson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McGee's waist but McGee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wilson off to one side.
Wilson slips a straight right by McGee.
McGee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McGee tries to land a front kick but Wilson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown but McGee shows good takedown defense.
Squirmy McGee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McGee drives through and clinches with Wilson against the cage.
Wilson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McGee smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Waderlei Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McGee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Wilson counters with a takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
McGee tries to improve position but can't.
Wilson wants to stand but McGee has his arm trapped.
McGee sneaks back into half guard.
McGee is looking for a sweep. Wilson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are battling for position here. McGee manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Wilson drops back looking for a leg! McGee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McGee manages to kick Wilson off! Wilson jumps back into McGee's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Waderlei Wilson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Squirmy McGee's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



McGee scores with a takedown into Wilson's guard.

McGee drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McGee jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Squirmy McGee has got the better of the ground game so far.

Wilson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wilson keeping full guard, as McGee tries to pass.

McGee is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McGee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McGee sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wilson's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McGee in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Wilson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from McGee!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Squirmy McGee!
