Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JOHN CENA (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Valadez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valadez shoots in and drives through. CENA sprawls well.
CENA shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Valadez as he jumps to the side.

CENA pushes Valadez up against the cage in a clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for CENA.

CENA manages to pull guard.
CENA wants to sweep but no luck.
Valadez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

CENA has his feet on Valadez's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Valadez fails with the takedown

and CENA counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by CENA.
CENA gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Valadez.
JOHN CENA has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Valadez.
CENA has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Valadez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Valadez tries to pull guard but CENA won't allow it.
Valadez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as CENA walks away with a smile on his face. Valadez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
CENA shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Valadez but Valadez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and CENA counters with a shoot takedown. Valadez fights it but they end up in guard.
Valadez looks gassed!

Valadez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as CENA controls the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
CENA controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
CENA stands up over Valadez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

CENA thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
CENA pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valadez is keeping the position for now.

CENA gets to his feet. Valadez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and CENA counters by moving into the clinch.

CENA avoiding damage.

CENA decides to pull guard.

CENA escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valadez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
CENA is looking to stand up but Valadez isn't so interested in that idea.
CENA manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
CENA pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Valadez is in a horrible position here. CENA smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
CENA can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Valadez is looking to escape.

CENA takes Valadez's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Valadez is in trouble.
CENA is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

You can see the frustration on Valadez's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

CENA working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Valadez is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and CENA has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Valadez taps out!
