Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zedicus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jones might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to .. Tate has chosen Diamonds Aren't Forever as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zedicus Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Tate!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Tate lands with a kick to the ribs.
Jones stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tate.
Jones wants to clinch up but Tate keeps it at a distance.
Tate misses with a wild body shot.
Tate looks to land a body kick but Jones moved away.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Tate, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Tate against the cage but Tate circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Tate!
Jones thowing shots but they're missing.
Tate holds on, trying desperately to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tate is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Tate is in all sorts of trouble here.

Tate wants to control but Jones is having none of it.
Tate is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Poor strikes thrown by Jones there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Jones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Tate is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jones trying to control but Tate is having none of it.
Jones avoids the attempt from Tate to control.
Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Tate is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea.

Jones looking to control but Tate is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Tate wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away.
Jones controlling from mount.
Jones throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Jones cracks Tate with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tate wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away.

Tate is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Tate regains half guard.
Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tate's head.
Jones has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Tate defend it? Jones steps over the head and cranks it - Tate is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jones!
