Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Possu The Pumpkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jones Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Possu The Pumpkin has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Possu The Pumpkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jones Junior!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from The Pumpkin misses.
The Pumpkin tries to clinch but Junior is having none of it.
A bone on bone clash there as Junior blocks the leg kick.
The Pumpkin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Junior blocks a head kick by The Pumpkin.
The Pumpkin swinging wildly here.
Junior throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The Pumpkin attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
The Pumpkin is looking to clinch.

The Pumpkin with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Possu The Pumpkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jones Junior.

Junior has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. The Pumpkin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The Pumpkin tries to clinch up but Junior circles away and keeps his distance.

The Pumpkin throws the kick towards the body but Junior avoids it.
Junior chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before The Pumpkin can pounce on him.

and Junior counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for The Pumpkin!
The Pumpkin is in all sorts of trouble here.

Junior thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Junior throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The Pumpkin is bucking up trying to escape but Junior cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Junior misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Junior sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Junior goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now The Pumpkin is on top in guard.
Junior is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Junior wants to improve his position but instead The Pumpkin has moved into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with The Pumpkin in particular looking to stall.
Junior is looking for a sweep. The Pumpkin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Possu The Pumpkin will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Junior checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Junior swats away the attempt to clinch by The Pumpkin.

Junior throws an overhand right that lands on The Pumpkin's shoulder, as The Pumpkin tries to avoid the shot.

Junior shoots in and gets a takedown into The Pumpkin's guard.

Junior is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! The Pumpkin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! The Pumpkin has escaped and now he's on top!

Junior throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for The Pumpkin because Junior loaded up on that one.
Junior is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. The Pumpkin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Junior won't let The Pumpkin get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Jones Junior showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Junior is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. The Pumpkin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Junior.

Junior postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Junior has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Junior tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Junior has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ground and pound from Junior seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Jones Junior comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Junior has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
