And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bower darts in and clinches Rivers up against the cage.

Bower breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bower wants to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Bower takes the fight into the clinch.
Bower wants a takedown.
Bower lands an elbow that stopped Rivers in his tracks for a moment.
Bower manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Rivers wants to break the clinch but can't.

Bower breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivers with a jab.
Bower tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rivers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bower keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Bower scores with a takedown into Rivers's guard.
Bower wants to stand but Rivers is controlling his posture from full guard.

Rivers wriggles free and stands up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Rivers misses the target.
Rivers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rivers connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bower's hands.
Rivers scores with a hook to the body. Bower takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Rivers drops Bower with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bower looks back up at him and smiles so Rivers waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Bower is rocked!
Eric Rivers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
BAM! Rivers delivers a spinning backfist that drops Bower like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
