PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Kidder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Rutecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutecki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Remember the Name kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Tim Kidder has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Tim Kidder seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kidder gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Kidder has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Rutecki regains guard immediately.

Kidder decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rutecki to his feet.

Kidder is working an open guard so Rutecki takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kidder tries to clinch there but Rutecki circles away.

and Rutecki counters with a two punch combo.

Kidder uses his free foot to push down on Rutecki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rutecki.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Rutecki makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Rutecki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kidder circles away.

enabling Rutecki to counter with a crisp jab.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kidder gets to his feet. Rutecki looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Kidder is trying to control Rutecki's posture but Rutecki avoids it.

Rutecki decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kidder to his feet.
Kidder tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rutecki swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Kidder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rutecki connects with a solid leg kick.

Rutecki blocks the strikes from Kidder.

and Kidder counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rutecki!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rutecki is in a horrible position here. Kidder smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Kidder is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rutecki can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rutecki wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Rutecki is bucking up trying to escape but Kidder cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
BOOM! Kidder connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Rutecki is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That was a close round but I would say that Tim Kidder will probably get the nod.

Kidder misses with a series of wild punches.

Horrible takedown by Rutecki or perhaps it was just good defense by Kidder which made him look bad.

Kidder tries to clinch up but Rutecki circles away and keeps his distance.

Rutecki is rocked!
Kidder is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Rutecki hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
