Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Francois Pignon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Benavidez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pignon's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Monster. Benavidez has chosen Da Mystery of Chessboxin' as his entrance music. Francois Pignon could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chad Benavidez's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pignon shoots in but Benavidez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Benavidez misses with a two punch combination.
No joy there for Benavidez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Benavidez misses with a wild body shot.
Benavidez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pignon to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Pignon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Benavidez dives on top into guard.
Pignon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Benavidez tries to free his leg and advance position but Pignon is retaining full guard.
Benavidez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Benavidez throws and elbow that misses. Pignon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Benavidez's guard. Nice move by Pignon!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Chad Benavidez was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Benavidez drives through and clinches with Pignon against the cage.
Pignon struggles to land a body shot inside as Benavidez controls his hands.
Benavidez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pignon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Benavidez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pignon's guard.

It looks like Francois Pignon has been cut.
Chad Benavidez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benavidez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Benavidez clinches with his opponent.
Pignon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Benavidez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pignon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Benavidez is controlling him.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Pignon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Benavidez's guard.
Pignon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Benavidez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pignon has Benavidez in his guard.
Pignon is working an open guard so Benavidez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pignon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Benavidez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well Benavidez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
