The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coldwell moves into range and clinches up with Mikkoa.
Mikkoa tries to pull guard but Coldwell holds him up against the cage and eventually Mikkoa drops back down to his feet.
Mikkoa is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Coldwell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Knees to the body from Coldwell.
Coldwell is working for takedown but Mikkoa is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mikkoa wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Mikkoa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Coldwell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Coldwell tries to keep at a distance but Mikkoa has taken the fight into the clinch.
Coldwell goes for a takedown attempt but Mikkoa pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Mikkoa takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
James Coldwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coldwell looks to land a combination but Mikkoa avoids it well.
Coldwell keeps Mikkoa at a distance using the push kick.
Mikkoa is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mikkoa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Coldwell swivels and escapes.
Coldwell should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Coldwell drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Coldwell wants to control from the top but Mikkoa keeps moving.

Mikkoa wants to stand up but Coldwell is controlling him.

Mikkoa isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Coldwell stacks Mikkoa on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Coldwell!

Coldwell goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mikkoa rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Coldwell's guard! Nice work there by Mikkoa!
Mikkoa seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Coldwell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coldwell doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Mikkoa lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Mikkoa wants to control from the top but Coldwell keeps moving.

Coldwell is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mikkoa rolls with it to try and escape but Coldwell cranks on the arm and Mikkoa is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
