Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gino Carano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Sandar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gino Carano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Julian Sandar!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carano misses with a series of wild punches.
A combination from Carano does no damage.
Carano throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sandar.
Carano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Carano throws a right and a left that Sandar avoids nicely.
Sandar cracks the inside of Carano's front leg.

Sandar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Carano wants to control but Sandar is having none of it.
Carano holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sandar tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Sandar content just to control the position here.
Let's hope that Sandar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Sandar stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Sandar dodges the punch combination from Carano.
Carano misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sandar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Carano is breathing heavily.
Carano misses with a looping left.

Sandar has closed the distance and engaged Carano in a clinch.
Carano wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sandar has him pressed against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carano has had enough of the clinch but Sandar keeps him there for the moment.
Carano wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Sandar drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sandar seems keen to control Carano's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sandar is trying to control the position but Carano postures up.
Sandar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Sandar looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sandar is on top in guard.

Sandar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sandar decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Carano, up you get!
Carano misses with a double jab.
Carano works over Sandar's head and body with a nice combination.
Carano throws a nice looking combination but Sandar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No joy there for Carano, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sandar feints and as Carano raises his hands in defense, Sandar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sandar trying to stand up but can't free himself from Carano's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Carano scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Carano misses with a series of wild punches.
No joy there for Carano, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carano misses with a jab, cross combination.
Carano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Carano throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carano lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Sandar dodges the punch combination from Carano.
Sandar throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Carano counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sandar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carano.
Carano looks to land a combination but Sandar avoids it well.
Carano fails to land with a series of punches.
Sandar misses the jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julian Sandar dominated that round.
That's time! Carano's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Carano stalks Sandar and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sandar's face. Sandar staggers backwards, shaken.
Carano tries to clinch up

and Sandar counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Sandar is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Sandar tries for a takedown but Carano manages to get underhooks.
Sandar misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Sandar lands a takedown into guard.

Sandar stands up and waves to Carano to follow him.
Carano throws a series of punches but Sandar moves out of range.

Sandar clinches up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sandar keeps control of Carano as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Sandar goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Carano tries to break the clinch but Sandar is controlling the position.

Sandar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carano tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Sandar counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sandar keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Sandar wants to control but Carano is keeping him busy.
Carano gets back to full guard.
Sandar wants to control from the top but Carano keeps moving.
Sandar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Carano kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sandar pushes down on Carano's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Sandar is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Carano is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Julian Sandar!
