Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Conor Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Lobe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Byrne comes into the arena with Wretches and kings-Linkin Park blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Conor Byrne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Lobe!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byrne is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lobe shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lobe was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lobe moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Byrne has worked his arm free - good work by Byrne!

Lobe goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Byrne rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lobe's guard! Nice work there by Byrne!
Lobe wants to sweep here but Byrne controlling him for the moment.
Lobe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Byrne is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lobe tries to pass to full mount but Byrne defends it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Conor Byrne.

Lobe is trying to move to mount but Byrne reverses beautifully and ends up in Lobe's guard.

Lobe postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Byrne is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lobe, into his guard.

Lobe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Byrne defends it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lobe has Byrne pulled in close to control his posture.
Byrne pushes down on Lobe's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lobe is trying to control but can't.
Lobe makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lobe.
Lobe is controlling Byrne's posture.
Byrne is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Lobe wants to hit a switch here but Byrne passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Lobe there!
Byrne prevents Lobe from getting the reversal.
Lobe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Byrne has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Lobe tries to lock up and control but Byrne gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Conor Byrne has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Horrible takedown by Lobe or perhaps it was just good defense by Byrne which made him look bad.
Lobe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Byrne pinned against the cage. Byrne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lobe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Byrne sprawls well. Byrne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lobe gets slowly back to his feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Lobe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Byrne walks away with a smile on his face. Lobe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Byrne is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
