Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hidalgo Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wan Iaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya swings away with a leg kick that misses.
No joy there for Iaton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Montoya shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Montoya buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hidalgo Montoya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Iaton takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Montoya turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Montoya is looking to score with low kicks.

and Iaton makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Montoya fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Iaton is out of range.
Montoya feints and then cracks Iaton's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Iaton down.

Montoya does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Iaton takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Iaton gets the takedown into side control.
Iaton remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

It looks like Iaton might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Iaton takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Montoya throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Iaton escapes and throws Montoya's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Iaton looks up at the clock and then as Montoya takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Iaton smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Iaton cracks Montoya with a big right hand but Montoya just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Iaton stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Montoya has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Iaton manages to get his head free but now Montoya has transitioned to an armbar! Iaton grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Montoya! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
