The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scotsdale throws a head kick that Silva semi-blocks.
Scotsdale throws a leg kick but Silva checks it.
A punch combination from Scotsdale misses.
Scotsdale misses with a wild body shot.
Scotsdale throws a head kick that misses.
Scotsdale tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Scotsdale misses with the combination.
Scotsdale doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.
Scotsdale misses with a two punch combination.
Scotsdale throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Scotsdale tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Silva checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Silva blocks a head kick by Scotsdale.
Scotsdale swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Scotsdale tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Scotsdale throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silva shoots in and drives through. Scotsdale sprawls well.
Scotsdale misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva moves out of range as Scotsdale throws a body kick.
Scotsdale misses with a head kick.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Scotsdale keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Scotsdale is defending against the submission attempts here by Silva.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Scotsdale tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.

That was a close round but I would say that David Silva will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scotsdale swivels and escapes.
Scotsdale throws out a loose jab but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Scotsdale throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.
Scotsdale misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Phillip Scotsdale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scotsdale throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.
Scotsdale throws out a leg kick but Silva moves out of range and Scotsdale only half commits.
Scotsdale misses with a series of wild punches.
Silva looks for a takedown but Scotsdale sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Scotsdale throws a right and a left that both miss.

Silva drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Silva seems to have locked his on tight now - Scotsdale screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Silva, as he picks up the win!
