Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Rando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Maracic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Dan Rando has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Rando!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Maracic!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rando connects with a high kick.


It looks like Joe Maracic has been cut.
Rando rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maracic moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rando throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Maracic bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Maracic tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Maracic wants to control but Rando is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maracic tries for a kimura but Rando is defending well.

Maracic looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Maracic grinds an elbow into Rando's temple.
Maracic working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Maracic misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Rando is not content to let Maracic control the position.

Maracic tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maracic has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Maracic is trying to get an arm triangle but Rando is defending well.
Maracic cracks Rando with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Maracic taking a break here but Rando is having none of it and regains half guard.

Maracic is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rando doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Maracic.

Maracic is trying to control. Rando wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Maracic thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rando's head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Maracic is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Rando is trying to get back to his feet but Maracic has full control of the position and if anything, Rando has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Maracic is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Maracic is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rando has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Maracic swings around for an armbar but Rando sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Maracic's guard.

Maracic is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rando rolls with it to try and escape but Maracic cranks on the arm and Rando is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
