The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royal stuffs the takedown.
Mac throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Sam Royal has been cut.

Royal closes the distance and clinches.
Royal stops a takedown attempt from Mac.
Mac fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BB Mac. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Royal scores with a nice hook to the head.

Royal breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mac gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like BB Mac has been cut.

Nice takedown defense from Royal. No joy for Mac on that attempt.
Mac throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Royal.
Royal has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Royal there as he acknowledges the shot.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Royal - that will leave a mark!
Royal fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Sam Royal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mac is breathing heavily.

Royal bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Royal misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Royal stands up.
Royal scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Royal uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mac has time to react.
Royal cracks Mac with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Mac tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Royal pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Mac is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
