The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Souza will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hardy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
de Souza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hardy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Horrible takedown by Hardy or perhaps it was just good defense by de Souza which made him look bad.

Hardy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hardy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can de Souza defend it? Hardy steps over the head and cranks it - de Souza is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hardy!
