Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bruce McBrain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yoshi Manza!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manza is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by McBrain.
McBrain scores with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from McBrain misses the target.
McBrain drops Manza with a beautiful combination! Manza stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - McBrain is looking for the KO!
Manza is rocked!
It looks like Yoshi Manza has been cut.
Manza looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McBrain gets a clinch.
McBrain wants to break the clinch but can't.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Manza tries to circle away but McBrain has him pinned against the cage.
Manza is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McBrain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Manza closes the distance looking to clinch
and McBrain counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Manza has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bruce McBrain!
