The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardnegger shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hainz sprawls well. Hainz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hardnegger gets slowly back to his feet.

Hainz looks to score with a jab to the body but Hardnegger is just out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hardnegger misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hainz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hardnegger shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hardnegger scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Hainz throws a head kick but Hardnegger moves out of range.

Hardnegger shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Hardnegger jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hainz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hainz and Hardnegger has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Hardnegger is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hainz has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hardnegger in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hardnegger tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hardnegger with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Hardnegger throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hainz because Hardnegger loaded up on that one.

Hardnegger get's back to his feet.

Hardnegger forces Hainz back against the cage and clinches.

Hainz tries to break free but Hardnegger pushes him back against the cage.

Hainz breaks the clinch.
Hardnegger shoots in and drives through. Hainz sprawls well.
Hainz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hainz tries to clinch there but Hardnegger circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hardnegger will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hardnegger throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hainz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hardnegger is in Hainz's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
