Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ping Pong!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A solid leg kick lands there for Pong.

Obertan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Pong looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Pong looking for submissions off his back.
Obertan stalling.
Pong tries to roll over but Obertan keeps him under control.
Obertan is nestled in close to Pong, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Pong wants to control but Obertan is keeping busy.
Pong regains full guard. Nicely done.
Obertan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Pong is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Obertan is aware though and is defending well.
Pong is trying to keep Obertan in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Obertan is fighting to break Pong's control of his arms but Pong is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Pong is trying to keep Obertan in close.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ping Pong.
Obertan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pong connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Obertan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Pong is looking to control Obertan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pong avoid being mounted?
Obertan wants to control but Pong is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Obertan stalling.
Pong is looking for a sweep. Obertan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pong is controlling Obertan's trapped leg to prevent Obertan from advancing to side control.
Pong is trying to maintain the position but Obertan is very close to passing his half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Obertan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pong avoids it really well and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pong is looking to clinch.

Obertan scores a takedown into full mount!
Pong is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pong is in all sorts of trouble here.
Obertan controlling the position easily from mount.
Pong really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Pong sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabby Obertan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Obertan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Obertan somewhat.

Pong drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pong won't allow Obertan to sweep him here.
Pong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Obertan is keeping the position for now.
Pong controls from within his opponent's guard.
Obertan keeping moving, preventing Pong from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pong is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Pong trying to control the position from guard on top but Obertan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pong postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Obertan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pong, into his guard.

Pong is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Obertan frees his head nicely. Oh but Pong has switched to an armbar! Obertan is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Ping Pong!
