And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cameron Daugherty!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daugherty wants to slow Massey down by chopping away at his legs.

Daugherty fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Massey sprawls well initially but Daugherty persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Massey wants to improve his position but Daugherty is controlling well.
Massey is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Daugherty's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Daugherty's back!
Daugherty trying to control the position but Massey manages to sink in the hooks.
Massey tries to get the hooks in deep but Daugherty pushed the leg off.
Massey doesn't have the hooks in and Daugherty manages to turn into his guard.
Daugherty preventing the sweep.
Daugherty must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Daugherty trying to control but Massey is working from the bottom.

Massey pulls Daugherty in to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Massey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Daugherty moves away.

Massey has managed to clinch.
Daugherty wants to get back to striking at distance but Massey won't allow it.

Massey gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Massey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Daugherty with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Daugherty looks like he's trying to stand up.
Daugherty is looking for a sweep. Massey is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Massey is controlling the pace.
Daugherty is looking to control Massey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Daugherty avoid being mounted?

Daugherty is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Massey is staying active.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Daugherty wants to improve his position but Massey is controlling well.

Daugherty really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Massey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Josh Massey just wasn't active enough.

Daugherty fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Massey avoids it really well and circles away.

Massey jumps guard.

Daugherty stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Massey has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Daugherty manages to get his head free but now Massey has transitioned to an armbar! Daugherty grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Massey! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Josh Massey!
