The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luu clinches up with Rollsson and pushes him back against the cage.
Rollsson jumps guard but Luu stands there with Rollsson around his waist. Rollsson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Rollsson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Luu tries to avoid it but Rollsson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Luu to the ground. Luu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

It looks like John Rollsson has been cut.
John Rollsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rollsson is defended easily by Luu.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kova Luu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rollsson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Luu tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rollsson is in Luu's guard.

Luu is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rollsson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rollsson shrugs it off.

Rollsson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Luu rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rollsson's guard! Nice work there by Luu!
Rollsson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rollsson tries to get out of the position.

Rollsson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Luu wants to get up but he can't break Rollsson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Luu is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rollsson defends it well.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Luu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kova Luu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rollsson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Luu wants to stand and escape but instead Rollsson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Rollsson tries to free his leg and advance position but Luu is retaining full guard.

Rollsson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rollsson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
