Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jones Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell wants to clinch.
A slow jab from Maxwell misses its intended target.
Maxwell misses with a wild body shot.
Maxwell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Adams.
Nice body punch from Maxwell.
Adams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maxwell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Maxwell clinches but Adams breaks the clinch

and Adams counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Adams wants to pass the guard but Maxwell is keeping the position.
Adams advances to half guard.
Maxwell wants to improve his position but Adams is controlling well.
Maxwell pushes Adams off looking to stand but Adams dives back in and keeps control.

Adams looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Adams drops an elbow to the side of Maxwell's head.

Adams is keen to just control but Maxwell is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Adams passes to full mount!
Adams fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Maxwell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Maxwell is breathing heavily.
Adams is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Adams lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Maxwell hang on?
Oh Maxwell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Adams wants to control the pace but Maxwell is squirming around nicely.

Adams is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Maxwell is surviving well by controlling Adams's body position as best he can.
Maxwell seems to have got his legs back now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maxwell tries to hold on but Adams postures up.
