Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vasco Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luca Ferr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vasco Sousa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luca Ferr!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Sousa.
Ferr circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sousa slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ferr tries to clinch up but Sousa circles away and keeps his distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sousa tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ferr looking to throw knees to the head but Sousa is blocking nicely.
Ferr lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


It looks like Vasco Sousa has been cut.

Ferr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sousa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Nice takedown defense from Ferr. No joy for Sousa on that attempt.

Ferr rushes Sousa and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Sousa's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Ferr throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sousa blocks it with crossed arms.

Sousa tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ferr is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sousa is keeping busy.

Sousa is trying to control the position but Ferr postures up.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sousa is working hard here to advance position.
Sousa is looking to stand up but Ferr isn't so interested in that idea.

Sousa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sousa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sousa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ferr is looking to improve his position.
Ferr wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vasco Sousa will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Sousa lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Sousa wants to control but Ferr is keeping him busy.
Check out the look on Sousa's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Ferr throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sousa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Sousa misses with a takedown attempt - Ferr sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sousa clinches but Ferr breaks the clinch

and Ferr counters by moving into the clinch.
Ferr is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sousa is defending well for now.
Ferr lands a good knee to the midsection. Sousa won't want to take too many of those.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sousa has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ferr defend it? Sousa steps over the head and cranks it - Ferr is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Sousa!
