Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Piolo Pascual (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Catcher Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Catcher Freeman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Piolo Pascual!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Catcher Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pascual shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Freeman defends it nicely.
Freeman looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Pascual goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Freeman takes the fight into the clinch.

Freeman turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Freeman manages to end up in side control.
Pascual wants to get back to his feet.
Pascual can't do much from the bottom here.
Pascual sneaks back into half guard.
Pascual is pressing down on Freeman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Pascual trying to keep a closed guard but Freeman is proving a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pascual is on top in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pascual's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Pascual trying to control the position from guard on top but Freeman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pascual really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Piolo Pascual.
Pascual tries to clinch up.
Catcher Freeman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pascual tries to clinch up but Freeman circles away and keeps his distance.

and Freeman counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pascual!
Freeman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pascual. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pascual is trying to escape the mount.
Pascual bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pascual postures up in Freeman's guard and throws a big left but Freeman blocks it.

Pascual passes Freeman's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pascual trying to control from half guard but Freeman is working away.
Freeman holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Pascual is pressing down on Freeman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Freeman is holding on for now.
Pascual wants to stand but Freeman has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pascual looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Freeman is concentrating on defense, preventing Pascual from advancing position.
Pascual blocks the strikes from Freeman.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pascual shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Freeman but Freeman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Catcher Freeman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Freeman lands a jab to Pascual's midsection.
Pascual looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Piolo Pascual is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Freeman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Horrible takedown by Pascual or perhaps it was just good defense by Freeman which made him look bad.
Pascual misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Pascual sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pascual is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Freeman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Freeman's back!

Freeman rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Pascual is just content to waste time from the top position. Freeman takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Freeman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Freeman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Freeman lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Pascual tries to lock up and control but Freeman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pascual is working to get back to half guard.
Pascual wants to control but Freeman is having none of it.
Freeman lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Pascual bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pascual wants to control from the top but Freeman keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Catcher Freeman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Pascual's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Freeman working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pascual's head.

Freeman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pascual has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Freeman has managed to get both his arms back between Pascual's legs - danger averted.
Pascual thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pascual is looking to stand up but Freeman isn't so interested in that idea.
Pascual striking off his back but it's not causing Freeman any problems.

Pascual is trying to keep Freeman in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Freeman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pascual.
Pascual moves in looking to clinch but Freeman pushes him off.
Freeman misses with a double jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Freeman enables Pascual to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Freeman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pascual wants to control from the top but Freeman keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pascual in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Pascual stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Freeman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Freeman has Pascual pulled in close to control his posture.
Freeman wants to stand and escape but Pascual is having none of it.
Catcher Freeman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Freeman closes the distance and clinches.
Pascual changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Freeman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Piolo Pascual has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Freeman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Catcher Freeman.
Well Freeman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
