Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jude Ilao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doctor Gonzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzo has chosen White Rabbit as his entrance music. Doctor Gonzo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzo leaves Ilao with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ilao tries to clinch there but Gonzo circles away.
Ilao tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gonzo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ilao somewhat.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Doctor Gonzo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Gonzo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ilao is trying to defend but Gonzo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ilao enables Gonzo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ilao manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gonzo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gonzo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Gonzo throws and elbow that misses. Ilao uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gonzo's guard. Nice move by Ilao!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
