Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Booker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Booker has chosen Dont go for the one - Gaelic Storm as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as David Booker enters the ring!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Saunders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Booker!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders shoots in but Booker avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Booker looks to land a body kick but Saunders moved away.
Booker tries to clinch up.
Booker leaves Saunders with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Saunders fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Saunders. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Booker fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Booker throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Saunders tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Booker is in Saunders's guard.

Saunders is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Saunders is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Saunders has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Booker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Saunders is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Booker pushes down on Saunders's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Booker wants to work for an arm triangle but Saunders is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Booker wants to take a breather but Saunders is having none of it.
Booker wants to stand up but Saunders is controlling the position.

Booker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Saunders is trying to get back to full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Booker slows the pace down in half guard.
Saunders is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Saunders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Saunders is breathing heavily.

Booker stands up out of the half guard.
Saunders has his takedown stuffed

and Booker counters with a nice double leg into side control. Saunders won't be happy with that.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Booker stands up.

Booker drives through with a takedown into guard.
Booker wants to stand but Saunders is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Booker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saunders swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Booker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Booker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Booker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Booker stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Booker lands a high kick!
A head kick from Booker lands but Saunders takes it in his stride.
Saunders tries for a takedown but Booker circles away easily

and Booker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Saunders!
Booker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Booker is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Booker gets a takedown into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Booker dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Booker is looking to clinch but Saunders is avoiding it.
Booker takes a swing at Saunders's ribcage but misses.
Booker is looking to clinch.
Booker tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Saunders manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Booker feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Saunders's calf.
Booker dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Booker throws a head kick but Saunders moves out of range.
Saunders shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Booker counters with a solid body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Booker counters with a shoot takedown. Saunders fights it but they end up in guard.
Booker trying to stand up but can't free himself from Saunders's guard.
Booker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Booker thows a body kick. Saunders tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Booker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Saunders's guard.

Booker stands up and waves to Saunders to follow him.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Booker closes the distance and clinches.
A knee to the head by Booker.
Booker is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Knees in the clinch landing for Booker.
Booker lands an elbow inside.

Booker stops a takedown attempt from Saunders.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Saunders. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Booker lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Booker lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Saunders or not.
Saunders takes an elbow to the temple.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Booker obliges.
A bit of stalling here from Booker.
Booker has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Booker jumps guard and drags Saunders to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Saunders drops back, looking for a kneebar! Booker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Booker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Booker!

Booker decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Booker stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Booker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Booker jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Booker scores with a head kick. Saunders tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Booker wants to clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Booker.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Booker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Saunders keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Booker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Saunders circles away from the clinch attempt.
Booker scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Saunders doesn't seem bothered though.

Booker shoots in and gets a takedown into Saunders's guard.
Booker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Saunders is proving hard to escape from.
Saunders tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Booker wants to stand but Saunders has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Saunders is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Booker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Saunders on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Booker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Saunders has escaped the position, nice work there.
Booker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Saunders keeps working.

Booker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Saunders knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Saunders is looking for a sweep.
Saunders trying to remain calm as Booker controls from the top position.
Ben Saunders has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Booker is working to tighten is grip on Saunders's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Saunders has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Booker is really squeezing tight and eventually Saunders passes out! Booker breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
