Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vince Kershaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vince Kershaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kershaw shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.
Kershaw throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kershaw postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jackson has his foot on Kershaw's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kershaw works his way back into a safe position though.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kershaw doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kershaw manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kershaw throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kershaw seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jackson for as long as he can get away with.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Kershaw shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.

Kershaw is stalling in the full guard.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kershaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson has momentary wrist control but Kershaw slips an elbow through the middle.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kershaw gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kershaw wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kershaw can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kershaw drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jackson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jackson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jackson!

Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kershaw keeps working.
Jackson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Jackson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kershaw is looking to control Jackson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kershaw avoid being mounted?

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kershaw is on top in guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jackson throws the left hand but Kershaw avoids the punch easily.

Kershaw shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.
Kershaw takes one to the chin there.

Kershaw shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Kershaw is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kershaw thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.
Kershaw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jackson wants to control but Kershaw is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kershaw not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kershaw pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Kershaw looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jackson!

Kershaw is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jackson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jackson shrugs it off.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vince Kershaw will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Kershaw shoots in but no luck this time.

Vince Kershaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kershaw has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kershaw there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jackson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Kershaw throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kershaw is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jackson throws a body punch but Kershaw moves out of range.
Kershaw takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kershaw shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.
Jackson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kershaw backs up against the cage.
Jack Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kershaw moves out of range of the strikes.
Kershaw fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jackson avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vince Kershaw. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kershaw fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jackson stuns Kershaw with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Jackson lands with a right hand.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jackson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kershaw in his tracks.
Kershaw takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jackson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Kershaw takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kershaw moves forwards but Jackson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Kershaw gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kershaw takes a jab right on the kisser.

Kershaw bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kershaw misses with the ground and pound.
Jackson is trying to control Kershaw's posture but Kershaw avoids it.
Jackson is trying to get back to half guard.

Kershaw wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.

Kershaw is trying to ground and pound but Jackson uses the momentary lack of control by Kershaw to regain half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jackson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Kershaw gets the takedown into side control.
Jackson tries to bench press Kershaw off him but Kershaw keeps the position.
Kershaw works to advance to full mount. Jackson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poor strikes thrown by Kershaw there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Jack Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kershaw has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
